Over the last week or two, I’ve made a few changes and updates to Renegade HR. Here’s what’s going on.
All about you
This site’s number one focus is about helping you become an HR rockstar.
Renegade HR is a simple, no BS approach to human resources. Great human resource management is about hiring great people and helping them do kick-ass work that drives your business.
Articles are generally going to fall into one of five categories:
- Technology & Social Media. How to use social media and technology help your people become rockstars.
- Recruiting & Employer Branding. How to hire great people.
- Training & Development. How to help your people do amazing things that drive your business (without putting them to sleep).
- Understanding the Business. If you want to be a great HR pro, you need to understand the business. I’m going to start talking a lot more about how to do that.
- Management Essentials. Stuff like communication, motivation, culture, and performance management.
More Me
Expect to see more of my personality coming through in the writing. That means I’ll be saying things like “I pinky swear” and occasionally using non-HR words (like kick-ass).
This is a professional site, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun, right?

Way to go, Chris! I love that you have such a clear mission statement. I know what to expect, and I’m looking forward to it.
My personal blog has always improved when I’ve done this exercise. I think it does two things: it directs the blogger, helping us improve, and it directs the reader, so we know what to expect.
