I agree wholeheartedly about the college-peak idea. When I was able to choose my own classes, attendance times, etc., I was a much better student. Plus, with the added factor of studying what I actually enjoyed, it really changed the way I look at education. Now I take every experience as a way to learn something new (like finding a cool blog about something called “Renegade HR”). :-)

It seems like college is when we peak in terms of how much we trust people to manage their own work, and then we sort of revert back to high school/middle school management.
