The Short Bio

My name is Chris Ferdinandi. I’m a human resource and social media professional based in Boston, MA.

I’m also a clean hippie (I love recycling and taking showers), beach bum, weekend warrior, and musician.

Renegade HR is where I share ideas about how recruit great people and help them do amazing things that drive your business.

The (Slightly) Longer Bio

Four years ago, I started my career in human resources. I found myself frustrated by the obsession with processes, administration, and control-based management that dominates so much of HR.

I started talking with my peers about how we could improve the profession. These conversations eventually evolved into Renegade HR, a no BS approach to human resources. I decided great human resources is really about two things: Hiring great people, and then getting out of the way and letting them do kick-ass work.

In September of 2008, I started Renegade HR to help other human resource pros become rockstars.

I work for EMC, an information management company who’s HR team definitely doesn’t suck. I help the businesses I support motivate and retain awesome people.

I have a bachelor of arts in anthropology, and a master of science in human resources and labor relations, both from the University of Rhode Island.

When I’m not doing HR stuff, you can find me bumming around on the beach, drinking wine, and hanging out with my wife and two furry children.
